Breakfast bar stools were traditionally fixed height and didn't have a back rest so they could be kept under the breakfast counter.
Nowadays the line between a home bar and a breakfast bar stool is a little blurred - some now have gas lift so they can be used by all the family and some even have a back rest although arm rests are not used in the design so that the stool will still go under the counter when not in use.
If you have a breakfast bar at a customised height or you have children at various ages and sizes you will also want to view our gas lift bar stools as many look equally as good in the kitchen as they do in the home bar setting.
